This is a classic riddle that I remember from middle school math. I couldn't figure out the answer back then without getting a hint for the answer and I still can't today. I had long forgotten the solution to this math riddle and it took me a while to make sense of the answer even after I saw what it was. I guess you can say I'm a little rusty at this stuff.


Here it is again:

A bowl contains 8 litres of water. 
You need to divide it into exactly 2 portions (4 litres each) 
You have a 3 liter jug and a 5 litre jug. 
The jugs have no measurement lines on them.
